GPU-acceleration for Surgical Eye Imaging
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper discusses GPU-related aspects of developing computer vision algorithms for detection of the pupil and limbus (the boundary between the iris and the white of the eye). As an example for our case study of GPUenabled algorithms, we introduce and explore a custom version of blob detector used for finding the pupil in preoperatonal images. This work was completed as part of an exploratory project by Kerner Graphics, Inc. to identify possible performance and resolution improvements for 3D eye surgery imaging products being developed by TrueVision

Accelerated GPU based SPECT Monte Carlo simulations.
Monte Carlo (MC) modelling is widely used in the field of single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) as it is a reliable technique to simulate very high quality scans. This technique provides very accurate modelling of the radiation transport and particle interactions in a heterogeneous medium. Various MC codes exist for nuclear medicine imaging simulations. Recently, new strategies exp...
متن کاملFast Cellular Automata Implementation on Graphic Processor Unit (GPU) for Salt and Pepper Noise Removal
Noise removal operation is commonly applied as pre-processing step before subsequent image processing tasks due to the occurrence of noise during acquisition or transmission process. A common problem in imaging systems by using CMOS or CCD sensors is appearance of the salt and pepper noise. This paper presents Cellular Automata (CA) framework for noise removal of distorted image by the salt an...
متن کاملUltra-Fast Image Reconstruction of Tomosynthesis Mammography Using GPU
Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a technology that creates three dimensional (3D) images of breast tissue. Tomosynthesis mammography detects lesions that are not detectable with other imaging systems. If image reconstruction time is in the order of seconds, we can use Tomosynthesis systems to perform Tomosynthesis-guided Interventional procedures. This research has been designed to study u...
متن کاملReal-Time Compressive Sensing MRI Reconstruction Using GPU Computing and Split Bregman Methods
Compressive sensing (CS) has been shown to enable dramatic acceleration of MRI acquisition in some applications. Being an iterative reconstruction technique, CS MRI reconstructions can be more time-consuming than traditional inverse Fourier reconstruction. We have accelerated our CS MRI reconstruction by factors of up to 27 by using a split Bregman solver combined with a graphics processing uni...
